Summer Showdown Electrical Issues

Showdown weekend has come and gone and although it wasn’t the finish we’d hoped for a lot of work went in to make the #12 Brokk car competitive all weekend long.

Immediately after our most recent win my crew worked through the night to switch to our new motor (thank you mom and dad) and spent most of the following days working to complete the transition, so I could practice that Thursday. I continue to say it, “I cannot thank my crew enough” and this is just another reason as they continue to dedicate their time and energy needed to compete.

We spent most of the first 100 laps in the front of the pack, but after the mandatory caution things began to quickly change. What was thought to be a loose spark plug wire then became much more as we began running on what felt like 6 cylinders. After going a lap down we were granted the “lucky dog” and were able to hang on for a 10th place finish. After the race we found the problem; a wire from the ignition box was coming loose.

While it was a tough break as Frank A. Clark once said “if you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn’t lead anywhere,” and our chase will continue August 12.

Thank you to my crew, my sponsors, my family, Michele Martin photography, Damien, and my fans. What a weekend it was, I’m looking forward to the next.
